2030 Plan
The City of Georgetown 2030 Comprehensive Plan is an overarching long-term plan for the future of Georgetown. The document contains the goals, policies and overall vision for growth and development, while maintaining the quality of life, history and charm of the city. The 2030 Plan was completed in February 2008 after extensive community input, a broad citizen-led steering committee and an outside consultant worked for over a year crafting a first-rate plan for Georgetown’s future. The City hopes this plan will carry out the long-term vision of the community and be adaptable to changing conditions and new opportunities. The document will continue to be strengthened through new plan elements, support and contributions of its users and annual updates on the progress of its policies and actions.
Below you will find the 2030 Plan, as developed from 2006-2008, including the first new element of the plan - Future Land Use. As required by the City Charter, there will be other elements of the 2030 Plan that will be added in the future, in addition to existing elements from the former comprehensive plan, the Century Plan. Soon to be adopted are the Parks and Housing Plans. Below, the plan is broken up into chapters for ease of use.
